Draconian Switch is an Art and Design e-magazine published in Trinidad and Tobago by Richard Rawlins with the collaboration of a group of artists, designers, and writers. The Magazine’s primary goal is to feature the work of CONTEMPORARY artist currently working in Trinidad and Tobago or with GLOBAL Caribbean connections.
It's our 20th issue of Draconian Switch (nah, boy!) and it's choc-a-block with brilliant things: a mini Bajan invasion, spearheaded by artist, Sheena Rose; photographer, Mark King; and neophyte, Evan Avery. BIM also supplies some critical writing from Ewan Atkinson and Natalie McGuire. From Trinidad we have writing by Sharon Millar, a review of Steve Ouditt's 2013 exhibition and photography by Kriston Chen. Dave Williams also ruminates on the question, "Is Trinidad carnival dying?" and Robert Young shares photographs from his mini band, Vulgar Fraction. Publisher Richard Mark Rawlins shares some of his favourite Switch moments, and it's all put together by our fantastic guest designer, Kriston Chen.
